FAQs
Your comfort is of the utmost importance to me. I want to make sure all of your questions are answered and all concerns are taken care of before we schedule a photo session. If you have any questions that aren’t covered in the FAQ section, please feel free to contact me.
*Also, please note that I am fully educated, licensed, registered and insured! Nobody has ever asked that, but I wanted to add it anyway
-Why have Intimate Boudoir photos taken?
- To give to your special someone as a birthday, Valentines, anniversary or wedding gift.
- To record your own beauty to look back on when you are older.
- As a mile stone to record weight loss.
- Most importantly, to celebrate your Beauty! What woman doesn’t want some delicious photos of herself to boost her confidence and make her feel great?
-I’ve never done anything like this, I’m a little nervous about being exposed in front of a stranger. Is that normal?
- Yes, it’s perfectly normal. I make sure to discuss with you before shooting what your comfort level is and how risqué you would like to go. It’s been my experience that everyone starts out a little nervous, but as the session progresses you’ll relax more and more and by the end you’ll be a natural! Sometimes sipping on a glass of wine can help calm those nerves. Due to legal and insurance purposes, I am unable to provide any alcohol, but if you have a favorite drink, feel free to bring it along as well as some of your favorite music!
*Please note that there is a difference between sipping a glass of wine and getting drunk. I will not take pictures of anyone if they are drunk. I will also require than anyone who decides to drink alcohol to sign a waiver before we shoot.
-What do I wear?
- Wear anything that makes you feel Delicious! You can wear a pretty dress, lingerie, a sheet or even go completely nude. The options are endless! If you are unsure, bring a bunch of outfits and accessories and we can decide what you will wear together.
-Do you provide the outfits?
- I have an ever growing collection of fabrics and accessories but am limited with outfits. I find most women prefer to wear something new or something they already own and feel wonderful in! And there is also the option of doing a “between the sheets” type shot where we don’t need an outfit at all. The sheet is the outfit! The sky is the limit with all of the options we have!
-Who will be in the room when I’m having my pictures taken? Can I bring a friend with me to the session?
- Unfortunately, I don’t allow for much distraction during shooting. Making beautiful photos is a creative process that requires all of my focus and attention. It’s a 50/50 effort between me and the subject(s). I find that additional people in the room drastically reduce the quality of the outcome. You can, however, bring a friend with you when choosing your final photos!
-Do you do “Couples Photos”?
- Yes, if all parties are completely willing and comfortable with it. Other stipulations apply.
-Who is going to see my photos? Will they end up on your website?
- Other than you, me and whomever you choose to show your photos, the only other person who will see them will be the technician at the professional lab where the photos are printed. The women on my website have given me permission to post their beautiful portraits and the only way yours will go on my site is if you want them to!
-Where will the photo be taken?
- I shoot primarily in my home studio, but am willing to travel to your home for an additional $100 to cover for travel and set up time. For an additional cost, we can also rent a gorgeous suit in my favorite Hotel and make-use of all their beautiful, antique furniture!
-How many photos do you shoot?
- As many as it takes! I shoot like crazy and end up with a ridiculous amount of pictures. I then edit them down so you have the best of the best to choose from.
-I’d love to get some beautiful pictures done of myself, but I don’t think I’m beautiful and I don’t have a perfect body. Do people like me get photos like this?
- We’re all beautiful in our own way and there is no such thing as “perfect”. It’s true! We’re all led to believe, through the media, that there are certain standards to beauty and perfection BUT THERE AREN’T! Beauty is everywhere!
- If we all had personal stylists, seamstresses, hair dressers, make-up artists, plastic surgeons, personal trainers and then to top it all of PHOTOSHOP, we’d look “perfect” too!
-I’m nervous about showing too much.
- We will discuss what it is you are and aren’t comfortable with before shooting. We will not do anything that you don’t want to do. This is all about you!
-How can I prepare?
- Practice posing in the mirror!
- Iron all wrinkly outfits and use hangers to transport them.
- Wear loose clothing all day before the shoot so there aren’t any elastic marks on the skin or discoloration.
- Exfoliate your face and body a couple times before hand, but not the day of the shoot as to avoid redness and irritations.
- Treat yourself to a facial to make the experience that much more special. If you have never had one before, do it a few days to a week before the shoot just in case you have a skin reaction.
-Can you get rid of my blemishes, scars, tattoos and wrinkles? Can you make me look thinner?
- If that is what you want, then yes! Some women love their beauty marks, battle scars, laugh lines and fuller figures. We will discuss ahead of time what exactly it is you want so I can do my best to deliver.
-How do I schedule a session?
- Contact me to discuss any questions and concerns. We’ll figure out a date that works for you and then you make a $200, non-refundable deposit (by check) to secure your session.
-What if I need to postpone or cancel?
- I need 48 hours notice to re-schedule your session.
- In the event of a cancellation, you can either forfeit the deposit or someone else can take your place. Restrictions apply.
-What’s the benefit of hiring you as opposed to going to a boudoir marathon?
- For me, every photo shoot is totally unique and is all about the subject; You! In order for me to get the best possible pictures of you, I need to figure out what the best combination of lighting, camera angles, poses and visual approaches will be the most flattering for you. I also need to get to know your personality, wants, needs, comfort level and expectations. I want to make unique portraits of you, but it is a process and it takes time. I will not do more than one shoot a day because of how much time and energy I put into each session. And the photo session is only about 30% of the work! I spend countless hours editing and retouching the final photos and making them works of art. And I love it!!!
- Typically with boudoir marathons, sessions last a half hour to hour and the exact same set is used for every woman. Marathons are great if what you are looking for is a quick shoot or the opportunity to go with friends.
